Steamroller Printmaking!

Thanks to the Community Arts Center and a Challenge America grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, Calliope has given workshops from Jan-May 2016 with students from Danville High School on a huge Steamroller Printmaking project. The printing event - complete with huge steamroller as a press - will finally happen this Saturday, May 14! Join us from 10am - 2pm at Danville High School, 203 E Lexington Ave, Danville, KY to see the printing in action!

We'll be making 4' x 8' prints from original wood blocks, designed and carved as the covers of original massive comic books by Danville High School students. For the block designs, students made up their own superhero characters, and have worked so hard to create a project that both shares their interests and engages the long history of woodcut graphic novels!
